Each T-cell receptor can recognise multiple peptides

Just 25,000,000 T-cell receptors are capable of recognising a much larger number of potential foreign peptides. This can only be achieved because each TCR is capable of seeing many thousands of different peptides. Thus T-cells are said to be extremely crossreactive
