I am involved in numerous local and international collaborations. The consistent theme of most of these collaborations is the study of antigen-specific T cell responses. We examine the clonotypic composition, function, phenotype and turnover (rate of proliferation and cell death) of T cells that recognize foreign (e.g. viral) and self-antigens (e.g. tumor antigens). In collaboration with Prof. Derek Macallan at St. George’s Hospital in London, we study the life span of memory T cell subsets using stable isotope labeling in humans. To enable these studies I have optimized and am running a 20-parameter BD FACSAria II that is located in a biological safety category 3 facility and is part of Prof. Price’s laboratory.
