Presently (2012): Undergraduate student undertaking a Professional Training Year (PTY) at the Cardiff Institute of Infection & Immunity based within the Henry Wellcome building. My PTY project, supervised by Dr David Cole, focuses on producing and analysing the soluble form of a recently discovered structural analogue for the CD4 T-cell co-receptor which is believed to impede cancer specific CD4 T-cell activation by out-competing the CD4 co-receptor during antigen engagement and providing a negative signal to CD4 T-cells. There is hope to utilize this regulation process for the therapeutic treatment of autoimmune diseases and cancer immunity.

Education: I am studying genetics at Cardiff University.
