I qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon from the University of Bristol in 2001 and subsequently spent 10 years in clinical practice. During this time, I developed a keen interest in infection and immunity, and an increasing desire to return to research. I have been awarded a Wellcome Trust Veterinary Entry Level Research Fellowship to be conducted as a collaboration between the School of Veterinary Science, University of Bristol and the Institute of Infection and Immunity, Cardiff University. My project is entitled, 'Coreceptor mediated optimization of the antigen specific T cell response'. I am working in Cardiff University as a visiting scholar, under the supervision of Dr. Linda Wooldridge and also with the joint supervision of Prof. Mick Bailey at the School of Veterinary Science, University of Bristol.
